Protos came to me in 2021 with the funding to hire a crack team of reporters and, even cooler, the freedom to cover crypto in the most compelling ways possible.
Informed crypto news is news backed by deep contextual knowledge and an adversarial bent.
Within two months, Protos was being regularly cited by mainstream media.
Reuters was the first, referencing our look into bitcoin donations to Alexei Navalny.
Our initial report on Mr. Goxx, the crypto trading hamster, was also a really big deal.
CNN, BBC, NPR, Fortune, Futurism, PCGamer, Business Insider picked up the story.
We reached our internal goal of one million pageviews in under a year.
